Kappa Xi Kappa Chapter Installed at NJIT

The Kappa Xi Kappa Chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu was installed Sunday April 27, 2025 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Ten undergraduate brothers were installed as Founding Fathers of Sigma Alpha Mu.

Supreme Prior David Kleppel led the ceremony along with staffer and Member Experience Specialist Riley Bleisch. Anthony Berti and Michael Kawochka from Sammy Tri-State Alumni Club participated along with several K Xi K alumni spanning seven decades.

Notables in the room were Brian Kiernan (Alpha '64), Joey Flanagan ('16) as well as Michael D'innocenzi ('80) and Eric Morrell (UMass) who were the catalysts for this epic and fortuitous merger.

The short story is that fortune brought Eric and D'inno together at a time when headwinds were blowing hard in the face of local Greek Letter Organizations at NJIT. Staff from SAM National Headquarters, worked with NJIT volunteer alumni and undergrads to secure the blessing and approval of the university to continue operating as the Kappa Xi Kappa chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu.

Alumni of the local forerunner are now considered full-fledged Sammies and enjoy all such rights and privileges. Accordingly, Sammy Tri-State Alumni Club welcomes them to join us as members and to participate in all our social, business and philanthropic events.

The New Jersey Institute of Technology is a public research university, located in Newark, NJ. NJIT offers 122 degree programs through six professional schools and colleges in STEM fields, as well as architecture, design, management, and humanities.
