Sammy September Business Dinner Group Recap

The Sammy Business Group welcomed five guests to dinner this month. New grad Kyle walked away from the dinner table with job introductions and career advice.

Fra's Morrell and "Dino" Michael D'Innocenzi were both at dinner. It was great to recognize and introduce them both as the engineers of the merger of the Kappa Xi Kappa chapter into Sigma Alpha Mu. Eric Morrell said "I don't often get to mix with Sammies from outside my UMass chapter. This was a fun way to meet other business-minded brothers, in a relaxed social setting."

Josh Meyer earned the long-distance award, for traveling from Philadelphia to our dinner. Gabe Sakellarides protested that he travelled just as many miles from Woodstock, but the judges over-ruled his protest as Josh crossed state lines and arrived before Gabe.

Guest Seth Kornbluth recognized Eric Stam from the temple that both of their families have attended for years before finally realizing last night they were both Sammies (from different chapters).

Dinners are bi-monthly. Members meet in 2 to 4-person groups during our off months to get to know each other, and be in flow so they can more reflexively refer business to each other.

Despite going overtime, we did not complete our packed agenda because members were having so much fun getting to know each other, and organic conversations took us to many other interesting places. We take that as a sign of a dynamic and engaging meeting.
