Sammy Spring Happy Hour a Hit in Mineola

MINEOLA, NY, JUNE 17 2026 — Sammy Tri-State took the Spring Happy Hour to a new venue: The St. James bar in Mineola. The event drew 22 brothers from 10 chapters spanning their twenties to eighties, proving that Sigma Alpha Mu is a lifetime deal and not just the four best years of your life!

While the happy hour crew was chock full of regulars, several newcomers clocked in. Fra Bernard Kenner had this to say, "I don't always make it to all the events, but when I do, I leave happier than when I arrived"

Conspicuously absent was Oscar Arias who broke his perfect attendance streak.

Mark your calendars for the remaining 2026 scheduled events.

• For our next happy hour, on Thursday, August 13th we return to Spring Rock Golf Center in New Hyde Park. Mini golf and the driving range are always activity options, but we have yet to make it beyond the bar.

JUL:

• Before then is the International Sammy Convention July 22 - 25 at the Westchester Marriott

• followed by the bi-monthly business group networking dinner on July 28 (usual venue, Royal 35 Steakhouse)

SEP:

• Our annual family BBQ is Saturday 9/19/25 at Christopher Morley Park.  Fall Happy Hour is TBA in Oct in midtown Manhattan.

DEEP FALL:

• Business dinners will be Sep 29 and November 17th.

• Friendsgiving is a tradition at NJIT
