NEW YORK CITY, MAR 31 2026 — Held by links of friendship together, the Sammy Tri-State Business Networking Dinner Group just convened our second meeting of the year.
Thirteen Sammies broke bread and built business bonds at Royal 35 Steakhouse. Pre-game cocktails and cigars started outside on the patio at 5pm on this balmy 73 degree day. We took the party upstairs to our private room at 6:08pm for extended schmoozing before sitting for dinner. Dessert was plated at 8:45 before taking the after-party back down the bar at 9:30. A hard-core cadre loitered and enjoyed each other's company til 11pm.
Diversity across decades and chapters is a feature of this group. Twenty somethings and septuagenarians sat side by side like pledge brothers. And all the decades in between.
"Thank you for so graciously welcoming me. I had a great time with a great group. Looking forward to the next one!" testified first timer Ryan Lefkowitz (Sigma Zeta, IU).
A curated agenda kept the conversation robust and relevant. Jake Krassner presented a dashboard app he vibe-coded to help with his fantasy baseball draft. Eric Zeger did a show and tell on Plaud AI, a hardware note taker that we used to record minutes of the meeting. An old dog like Jeff Beal taught us some new tricks, using AI to glean prospects from publicly available data. High-frequency tax-loss harvesting strategies got some airtime.
Our Charity of the Month: Fra Lonny Anger's Annual Brotherhood Mission with JNF-USA
We meet bi-monthly on the last Tuesday of the month -- our next meeting is May 26th. Reply to SammyTriState at Gmail dot com for an invitation.
For extra credit, we are planning an off-site bourbon tasting in NJ May 30th, 2026.
Like all Sammy TriState committees, the business dinner group is staffed 100% by unpaid volunteers. We budget our events to break even (with a minor surplus or loss).
